Farm Credit Welcomes Bell as Cybersecurity Intern

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Zach Bell has joined the Association as a cybersecurity intern working primarily with our information technology department. He is based at the Roanoke branch, though he will spend the summer visiting branches and customer-owners throughout the footprint, as well as shadowing other departments.

Originally from the Cave Spring area of Roanoke, Bell currently lives in Boones Mill. He obtained an associate degree in general studies from Virginia Western Community College and he is a senior at Radford University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity. He has prior experience working as an electronics associate at Walmart.

Bell is excited to learn more about the agriculture industry and Farm Credit’s business during his internship. He shared, “I am looking forward to bringing the knowledge and skills I’ve learned at Radford University and be able to apply it to my work here at FCV while gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity.”

“We are very excited to have Zach with us this summer,” shared his mentor, Sr. Information Systems Specialist, Jason Welch. “We feel certain that Zach will have the opportunity to learn a great deal from our team and be able to teach us a lot during his internship!”

In his spare time, Bell enjoys spending time with his wife, collecting trading cards and working on personal computer projects.
